Many-Spotted Cat Snake

Many-spotted cat snakes are species of mildly poisonous colubrid snakes, found in large parts of Asia. They are rear-fanged and known to be generally calm and non-aggressive. The species is nocturnal and exhibit arboreal activity.

    Color Gray-brown dorsal color with two series of non-uniform nearly oval shaped blackish or dark brown spots and another two series of smaller  but prominent spots on the lower sides; head contains two blackish bands which separate at the back; presence of a blackish irregular line from the eye to mouth’s corner; ventral color is whitish with spotted or marbled with brown and each side contains a series of brown spots
    Distribution Western Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, India (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Miao – Changlang district), Southern China, Indonesia (Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi)  Cambodia, Bangladesh, Laos, Singapore
    Habitat Well-watered woodland, scrubland, treed grassland
    Diet Lizards like geckos and small skinks, lizard eggs birds, frogs
    Predators Larger snakes, birds of prey
